We’re living in a sci-fi reality and acting like it’s no big deal. Drones buzz casually overhead, supercomputers fit neatly in our pockets, and artificial intelligence has become the new normal. In some ways, it feels like a Utopia.
Aspects of technology are a blessing.
A hundred years ago, no one was performing surgeries through tiny keyhole incisions and guiding robotic arms on a screen like it’s a video game. Back then, we were only beginning to grasp germ theory, and men could die on the table from wounds we’d consider minor today.
If we’re not careful they are a curse.
These advances aren’t the whole picture. There’s more to the story. The same progress that fixes our bodies is degenerating our souls.
Modern culture boasts of futuristic technology but is empowered by ancient evil. The Bible warns of a subtle but overwhelming enemy woven into every empire, every culture, through all of history. It’s a dark and spiritual, anti-God kingdom underneath every culture. We’re greatly mistaken if we think this doesn’t pervade iphones, ai, and social media.

There are right now in Sillicon Valley communities of techno-futurists who believe nothing human makes it into the future. This is because AI carries the risk of crossing a threshold of human control because artificial super-intelligence explodes and outpaces humanity, becomes autonomous, and is kind of emergent intelligence beyond human comprehension. Because machine learning has the potential to learn on it’s own, it could happen suddenly and exponentially in what some have coined an “intelligence explosion”, it theoretically could happen so suddenly and dramatically that it oustrips human ability to intervene.
While that’s possible, today I want to teach on the impact and use of technology such as ai in a way that’s already happening here in our generation–among your children so that we can think as disciples of Jesus in the current tense threats were facing.
There are two great enemies of our souls and the Kingdom of God the Bible speaks of: The Anti-Christ and the World. We’ll deal with both today.

THE CORRUPTION OF THE WORLD
Revelation 17:6–7 And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I marveled greatly. [7] But the angel said to me, “Why do you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her.
Revelation 17:15–18 And the angel said to me, “The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages. [16] And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and handing over their royal power to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. [18] And the woman that you saw is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.”

The World (Corporate Sinful Culture) and its
false religion of sexual sin that persecutes convictional Christians for resisting and is carried and empowered by the power of the state.
Waters v.15 The Prostitute is seated on Peoples, Nations, and Languages across time.
The world is the spiritual force within every human culture that opposes God, condemns good, and promotes evil. Revelation depicts the world as the city of Babylon and warns of its corrupt political leader, the Beast. While people assume this is only a future vision, the writers of the New Testament are clear Babylon and the Beast have already infiltrated the here and now.
Every earthly culture is animated by the spirit of “Babylon”. Whether Rome, Big Tech, or global systems of control, the World is very much alive and well. Its enticing tentacles pull on us through every viral TikTok trend, each new pop song stuck in our heads, and every notification we feel. How do we resist the lure of worldliness? How do we raise kids in the world–but who are unpolluted by the world?

WARNINGS AGAINST THE WORLD

This was written 2,000 years ago but is a perfect picture of our culture today.
TODAY: CULTURAL MARXISM
Right now I would argue cultural Marxism is the seat of the Prostitute of Revelation 17. State Universities are teaching is imbued today with marxist ideology and it’s spreading like a religion. Marxism redefines everything within the framework of oppressed and oppressor. Whoever fits into the oppressed category is the victim and therefore justified in using deadly force against those who are deemed as in power and therefore in the oppressor category.

Let me more deeply explain how Marxism is fleshing out right now: Anyone who fits in an oppressed category are those who can really define the situation as the oppressor is blind to it. The oppressed alone need to be heard, believed, and empowered–as they alone of the moral authoritative voice. Then, the so called oppressors need to be silenced, listen, learn, and lament. They need to pay the oppressed back with reparations.
Christianity is of course understood as an oppressive force and therefore evil. Across all American cities many people on the ideological left celebrated the targeted execution of a Christian by a man who saw it as the only way to stop the spread of his oppressive influence stating:
“I had enough of his hatred” and “Some hate can’t be negotiated with.”

Why? Because those requesting gender reassignmet are considered “so suicidal that it’s a form of triage”.
This is why in the minds of neo Marxists, Charlie had to go. He was responsible for violent speech and creating a suicidal environment. He was also responsible for electing what they consider to be the ultimate fascist, Donal Trump.
Because in the Marxist framework he represented the oppressor. A white, Christian, conservative, pro-gun, male. This is what allowed countless people to virtually celebrate his death.

Ai is not real intelligence but the summary of the world’s corporate thought. God made us in his image good but ever since the fall, we are sinners and the World is the system of corporate sinful humanity. In our fallen state, we have made Ai in our image. It reflects our cooruption.
One example: Ai is used on social media to pick up if you so much as hesitate slightly longer on a left leaning post and then feeds you more. It is shaping what billions of people see, think, feel, and believe every day.
Feedback Loops: How AI Disciples Users
The cycle of digital formation:
You react emotionally to content.
AI learns your reaction (dopamine spike).
It amplifies similar content.
You become more polarized, addicted, or affirmed.
This is one of the dangers of A.I. today.
Ai is the most sophisticated expression of the Revelation 17-18 Prostitute yet.

01. Enslave you to lust.
For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her (18:3)
02. Addict you to consumerism.
“merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.”(18:3) “The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold and jewels.” (17:4)
03. Polarize you against your enemies.
“She was drunk with the blood of the saints.” (17:6)
04. Lock you in an echo chamber of your own ideas
“…she glorified herself… ‘I sit as a queen, I am no widow, and mourning I shall never see.’ (18:7)
05. Entangle you in demonic thinking.
“She has become a dwelling place for demons” (18:2)
THE COMING OF THE ANTICHRIST
Revelation 17:8–14 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to rise from the bottomless pit and go to destruction. And the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come. [9] This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated; [10] they are also seven kings, five of whom have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come, and when he does come he must remain only a little while. [11] As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes to destruction. [12] And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast.
While there is a final-boss Beast and an ultimate Babylon, every age has a “beast”.
“Many Antichrists” are Already Here
1 John 2:18 “Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.”
1 John 2:22 “Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.”
1 John 4:3 “Every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.”

There is a future singular, climactic Antichrist figure coming one day.

Revelation 17:17 for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and handing over their royal power to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled.
Revelation 13:14–18 [The false prophet (or false religion)] …deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. [15] And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. Christians need to think and speak clearly on cultural topics and not be bullied into political silence.
We often hear the argument that “there should be a separation of church and state.” But the phrase is not found in the Constitution,but instead originated in an 1802 letter from Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association. His point was not to exclude the church, but to protect the church from the state. The founders feared government control over religion, not the public influence of Christianity.
In fact, the First Amendment forbids the establishment of a national church while guaranteeing the free exercise of faith in every sphere—including politics.
Logically, every law reflects someone’s morality, and to exclude Christians from the public square is not neutrality; it’s the establishment of a secular tyranny. Biblically, Jesus called His followers to be “salt and light” (Matthew 5:13–16)—preserving what is good, exposing what is evil, and shaping culture toward justice and truth.
If Christians retreat from politics, we surrender the nation’s conscience and formation to those with a non-Christian worldview indefinitely. To love our neighbor means influencing the policies that affect them. True separation of church and state means the Church is not to be constrained or silenced by the state and is therefore free to influence politics.
THE COUNTER-CULTURAL WAY OF JESUS
Christians need to think clearly on Technology.
Critical thinking is still being developed. Ai thinks for you.
I spoke with an undercover cop who is a dad of two teenage girls about their use. You wouldn’t believe the threat that phones and social media are. It’s the main place of trafficking, crime, drug sales, and all kinds of predatory activity.
→ Parents today are scared of sending their kids outside and comfortable handing their kids an iphone. They should be okay with their kids being outside and terrified of handing their kids a phone.
01. Don’t start too early. Be even slower with social media.
02. When you start, retain dictatorial control via settings.
03. Increase access with trust and maturity.
04. Disciple them through each step of usage.
05. Don’t condemn your kids to a life of sexual and technological addiction.
06. Better technologically inept and spiritually adept than the other way around.
Most grown men can’t handle a smart phone. Don’t hand one to your kids foolishly. You’re the adult, they are the child.
